Chikaming Open Lands began in 1999 as a small idea in the minds of concerned community members. Today, we have grown to an organization with over 800 members. In early October of 2009, we celebrated our tenth anniversary of land preservation, acknowledging those who have helped along the way and renewing our motivation for the future. more>>>
Ten years ago, Chikaming Open Lands protected its first five acres. Today, COL works with landowners at the local level and has protected nearly 850 acres. We are achieving our mission — Protecting the Land, Preserving Our Heritage. With the help and support of more than 800 members, we are well on our way to meeting our goal of 1,500 acres preserved by 2012. more>>>
