Conservation Easements

Many of COL's protected properties are conservation easements on privately held lands. Conservation easements are voluntary legal agreements between landholders and Chikaming Open Lands that permanently limit the uses of the land in order to protect its natural features. If you are curious about how conservation easements work, we hope you'll read about them and feel free to contact us if you have further questions.
