GALIEN RIVER PROPERTY PROTECTED

We are pleased to tell you that on December 22 Chikaming Open Lands acquired title to 30 acres of land in Chikaming Township from the Genetzke Estate!  The protection of this scenic forested wetland with 2,000 feet of frontage on the Galien River would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of members who responded to our year-end fundraising appeal! 

The property will be forever protected in its predominantly natural condition under a conservation easement with Covenant Farm, an adjacent landowner and a key funding partner, on whose property we currently hold another easement.

Our members' dedication to preserving this corner of Michigan for future generations is a constant source of inspiration for us.  We are truly grateful!
