Update on AEP New Buffalo-Bridgman Transmission Line Rebuild Project

COL has been in contact with representatives of AEP to discuss questions and concerns regarding the proposed New Buffalo-Bridgman transmission line rebuild project. AEP recently sent a letter to landowners along with a “Frequently Asked Questions” fact sheet, linked here for your reference.

AEP will be holding a “Public Open House” on Wednesday, June 28th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Weko Beach House in Bridgman (5301 Lake St, Bridgman, MI 49106). This open house will feature stations where community members can ask specific questions to project team members about different aspects of the project.

AEP has also updated their website with new maps of the route and additional information, which you can view here.

The Chikaming Township Board discussed the project in a meeting yesterday evening (6/8/23). The township has organized a citizens committee to engage AEP on the issues. For more information on joining this committee, please visit this link.
