Kayak & Brews - July
July 21, 2025 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm
COL-provided kayaks currently have a waitlist. To join the waitlist, register here. Want to guarantee your spot? Reserve a kayak through Third Coast Paddling! (fees apply; make sure to reserve the New Buffalo location). Bringing your own kayak? You're welcome to join, just be sure to register!
Get outside with Chikaming Open Lands and Third Coast Paddling for a scenic paddle through the Galien River Marsh! After exploring the marsh, participants will be invited back to Ghost Isle Brewery to enjoy discounted food & drinks with a front-row view of the beautiful Galien River.
Please arrive promptly at 2:00pm. Before departing, all participants must fill out waivers, get gear, and listen to our short safety talk.
Paddle:
2pm - 3:30pm ET at the New Buffalo Boat Launch
(across from the beach), 201 Marquette Dr, New Buffalo, MI 49117
Ghost Isle Social Hour:
4pm - 5pm ET at Ghost Isle Brewery, 17684 US-12, New Buffalo, MI 49117
Registration:
This event is 21+. Registration is required and will open on July 6th at 10am ET with limited space for those who do not have their own kayak. Due to our limited number of kayaks, participants who have their own paddlecraft (stand-up paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, etc.) are encouraged to bring them. This is not an instructional event; participants must have previous kayaking experience to attend. Register here.
Cost:
We are excited to bring the kayaking portion of this program to the community free of charge, with additional kayaks available for participants thanks to our partners at Third Coast Paddling! Participants will be responsible for covering their vehicle parking fees at the City Boat Launch and their bills at Ghost Isle Brewery.
